Pythius - Descend (Blackout) | 30th of March 2018
The wait is finally over. This month, Pythius unveils a monster of a debut album; the 12-track Descend, forthcoming on Blackout. The mighty Dutchman has teased us for months with two heavy-hitting singles, From the Future / Akkoord ft. June Miller and Monster Black Hole. Now, Pythius rolls out the full LP that his loyal fans have been waiting for, all guns blazing and toting an incredibly diverse selection of tracks. It’s been years in the making; this is one album that ensures that the wait was absolutely worth it.

Descend will keep your bass cravings at bay for weeks on end. Expertly crafted to take the listener on a journey throughout a multidimensional musical landscape, Pythius’ creativity and skill resonates from start to finish. Meticulously blending clean, cutting-edge sound design with fierce bass and his signature drum beats, it’s very clear that Pythius took no shortcuts during the making of Descend. The album signifies a progression of Pythius’ artistry, as it touches down on territories previous unchartered by the producer. From aggressive neurofunk, to metal influence, to straight-up synthwave, Descend helps turn a new page for the drum and bass genre.

Pythius’ Descend follows previous EPs Abandon, New Order and Heresy, all of which rocketed the producer in to the limelight in his field. Not only are Pythius’ studio efforts paying off in terms of his musicality, his touring schedule is continually heating up to a level close to that of his productions. Catch him playing out his new material across Europe this year, with stops at the Netherlands, Germany, UK, France, Romania, Spain and more.
